hmm.
Just watching this thing on the “face transplant” woman. Not much noise made before about the fact that she was unconcious due to drugs when she was mauled, or the fact that she was and still is a smoker. Shame, as it’s made me switch from “fair play” opinions, to “what was the point?”. Sorry. She was unconcious through her own actions at the time she was mauled? She’s an unrelenting smoker? Yet, you waste the time and the money that, lets face it (no pun intended) is hardly growing on trees, to resurrect her face so she can go on killing herself? mm…intelligent.
Also looking at the protests on the news about those bloody cartoons. “no sense of humour” springs to mind. “excuse to kick off” also springs to mind. People are sheep…I mean..FFS..religion is all different interpretations on the same basic theme..yet everyone has to get into a pissing contest..”my religion is better than yours”…sigh. I’m not religious. If there is a god or higher power, then it’s far from an “all seeing, all knowing and just” entity. I personally read the bible, and concluded that you could drive a truck through the logic in it. Best work of fiction out there…water to wine? Hmm…”piss” to wine I KNOW can be done. Did Jesus get the water from a river? How many people used it as a sewer? That’d give it a bit of a kick..
God created man, offered man different animals as “companionship”..bestiality? I think so. Man says no (welsh excepted..*cough* just kidding..), god takes rib of man. Bish bash bosh, we have woman. Genetic engineering on a grand scale. Yet we’re told its “against god”. hogwash. Yet millions of people take the word of the bible as law. It’s too damned vague to do that…you may as well try to draw a straight line using a slinky as a ruler.
Fair play on those who have beliefs..if it gets you through life, you go for it. Me, I believe on achieving things myself..making my own purpose. I wouldn’t go to war over religion..if you want to meet god sooner, go for it..and get it out of your system without bothering the rest of us that are just trying to get along in life.
EDIT.
What about this “met, and married within the day” lark? STUPID!!! May as well walk up to a tiger, flop your tackle in its mouth and flick it with a wet towel. Just as entertaining, and lets be fair…probably about as satisfying. Excuse me, I’m going to throttle the stressy budgie.
I would have to defend her. Firstly, doctors collectively agreed her case warranted the performing of such a surgical operation. Some argue it was to ensure their medical fame as the first to do so and therefore, they hastily selected a patient to perform the operation. Either way, the doctors decided, not her, to operate. She was the mere enabler if you will.
Secondly, her state of unconsciousness in contrary to some reports was due to sleeping, not induced by drugs. Best review several sources on one topic to determine the truth. Whether the state was by sleeping or drugs, one can argue she chose to do so.
One fact remains solid, her dog did attack her and her state did not enable defense. Subsequently, her face was acutely scarred by the incident. If one drunk is injured in a car accident for example, do you refuse them treatment on the basis they brought this on themselves? No, as a doctor, their role is to heal, treat and care for all patients. It is not their job to question the patient’s actions unless it presently interferes with their recovery. The doctors in this case have informed her so and she has decided she will stop smoking. Whether she does so is not of my concern.
Wasting money is very subjective. Is performing a breakthrough operation, regardless of the subject, worth it? Some would say so.
They did the operation for the prestige not for her benefit. The green one is right, they’re wasting their time with her.
