So, what’s new? Not much..:) Work is still work, Astra still works (but is due an MOT on Saturday), Jem is fine, everyone is..normal..:)
Just so damned busy! Despairing at tech support that spell completed as “compleated”.
About the only interesting thing going on is I now have a removeable hard disk setup on my PC, and can swap between Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Ubuntu 6.06 “Dapper” at will just by pulling out 1 hard disk caddy, and slotting the other in.
Dual boot? Not on your life. I’ve got Ubuntu set up using Automatix for all the bells and whistles..I can play all sorts of “Windows” formats (WMV, WMA etc), I’ve got my Freecom Freeview USB stick working great, and I’ve even got it to play Doom3 a damned sight better than XP could. I’d forgotten how much that game made me jump. Every day I find less things I need to back to XP for..:)
I’m playing with Vista Beta 2 and Office 2007 Beta 2, and I like them…and if the licensing and bulk wasn’t what it promises to be, I’d be tempted…as it is, I think I’ll stick with XP/Ubuntu.
