After spending 20 minutes for the guy to enter all my details (which must be there already FFS, I HAVE logged 30 odd already since January), I give him 4 Asset tags and serial numbers.
“Thanks. We’ll send those out for tomorrow. Goodbye now”.
and he hangs up. They can’t cope with more than 4. Nor can they deliver more than 4.

I know, it’s not the call center fault. That’s why I don’t rip into them..they have to stick to the script.
Yes, it’s that time again. Over the weekend, I’ve had 13 more Optiplex GX60 power units go down. All with the TH-0N2286-12782-xxx-xxxx serial number. Out of the 70 we bought, I now have..hang on, I’ll check..29 left that are still running on their shipped power unit.
I make that 41 machines failed since January 2006. “Isolated Incident” Dell? I think NOT.
Well, we are having a good week, aren’t we? lol
Is there anything you could do/anyone you could scream at that would make a blind bit of difference, or is it all futile?
Thank goodness only ONE Dell died on me, I don’t think I could’ve coped enduring those call centres on more than one occassion. You’re made of stronger stuff than I, Mr Rowlands!
Have you the option to use Lenovos instead? My mom’s company has been having problems with Dells lately, too, and we’re testing those out now. Of course, it’s not like you have the power to make that conversion, but it’s a suggestion :d
Oh, I have ton of Dell computers…they’re good at first. But then, something goes wrong and the warranty is out. *cough* ask me how I know…
I loathe dell. That’s why my daddy builds my computers :)
