Wii and Satnav fun.
I’ve finally bought a transflash to SD adapter, and a 512mb transflash memory card. Why? Well, I like to tinker. I have a Streetpilot i2 Satnav unit, and it’s good. Very good. However, when you do something it doesn’t expect or it gets things wrong, you hear a womans voice calmly stating “Recalculating..”.
Last time I heard that, it had just taken me through a ford with water upto my bonnet (leading to a subsequent blown head gasket), and then realised it had got it wrong. Impressed? no. Especially when it then said “turn left”- onto a footpath.
Now, I’ve been able to back the 256mb card up that came with it, restore that to a 512mb card (more map space), and with the aid of a few utilities, change the voice files. Instead of “recalculating”, it will shout “ARSE!” in the voice of Father Jack (Father Ted - UK TV). Much better.
What other news..hmm..oh yes, we bought a Wii console..:) If you have/plan to get one, the cow racing on “Wii Play” is damned funny..and the console itself is pretty damned good. The Wiimote is strangely satisyfing to use - I can see why people rave about it.
Back to finding some sound files..;)
wooo, wiii commenting!
