Bloody hell, I’m impressed..

I’m in shock…

Just had a call, at 7.30 on a SUNDAY…from PLUS.NET!!!

PLUS.NET are our (to be) new ISP…so I put down the steam cleaner (doing the landing carpet and a bathroom blitz - I DO like clean) and took the phone from Jem..

“Hi, this is Fred from Plusnet. You’ve placed an order with us, and I’m having problems with your postcode on BTs systems. ”

“Ah, yes. Try 5PZ instead..we have 2..different utilities have different ones..some 5PX, some 5PZ..”

“Oh, that’s a bit mad..lets see…5..P..Z. Oh yes! There we go - activation pending. Right! Well, it’ll take upto 7 days to get the line going, so..that’s done. Anything you’d like to ask me?”

“Um..nope…”

“OK. Cool! Sorry to disturb you on a Sunday Sir..”

and he hung up..

Fook me…now THAT’S what ISP’s SHOULD be like…full marks so far!

We cleaned up the old flat yesterday, so that’s another job done. We’ve been in here one week..and in that time we’ve:

  • Painted, filled, cleaned and scrubbed everything
  • Moved in fully
  • Put up all bar one curtain
  • Started on the gardens (hedges 75% done, back garden in progress)
  • Fixed the garage doors, now working
  • Demolished the stud wall in the middle of the garage
  • Sorted the utilities into our name and got new cards
  • Fixed the cooker door, still need to fix the grill
  • Relaid the bathroom floor
  • Resealed the bath
  • Fixed the wardrobes

Still got bits to do, but..yes. Hit it hard, hit it fast, job done..

Still no working heating or hot water as such - boiler and gas fire are still FUBAR..Electric water heater is working, but it’s costing quite a bit!
