Karl’s Asylum ... for the terminally deranged

Bloody hell, that was quick.

EXCELLENT! *big grin*

The postie just forced 2 big jiffy bags through the letterbox..and I mean FORCED…

However, the contents were luckily undamaged, or I’d have gone mad..

I have in front of me:

1 12v 3watt solar panel.
1 prototyping board
1 4xAA battery holder
1 1xAA battery holder
5 2N3904 NPN transistors
6 1k resistors
and a bag of miscellaneous adjustable potentiometers, 10k white LEDs, and LM317T voltage/current regulators.

Let the games commence..heh..

I can’t believe the panel survived…he was pushing, shoving and forcing the damned envelope in the letterbox..

I was at the damned window FFS!! This is a 10×8cm glass solar panel..I paid about £20 for that, thankyou.

A BIG “Thankyou” to WWW.REUK.CO.UK for supplying the panel and various bits - considering I ordered a mere 48 hours ago, I’m impressed! A big “Thankyou” to Maplin as well for delivering the other bits..I was dreading that after my last order arrived in dribs and drabs over the course of 2 months.

Of course, this now means I can go back to my first love (techical-wise)..electronics. Not computing. Computing took over, but I’ve always been an electrical/electronics obsessed person. I HAVE to know how things work. I did GCSE electronics at school, I used to buy bags of random circuit boards and parts to raid, I even still have my “200 in 1 electronic projects kit”. Electronics and electrical stuff appeal to me in a totally different way to PCs..and I feel the need to kick back and relax these days..so I decided to take up my soldering iron and start afresh with a few years experience behind me. I have boxes of old computer parts that need binning still…I’ll break those down into components first, I think…build up a good supply of parts.

First thing I’m going to do is build a joule thief..because it looks like fun..:)
