H870 DUD: Rover Maestro 1.6LX Automatic
I’ve had a few cars since I started driving, and whilst they have all been good, nothing has come close to the fun and games that my 2 Maestros have given me….I know you’re probably laughing, but I have to say it’s the cheapest fun on four wheels I’ve ever found!
It cost me a total of £1000, and had covered a miniscule 35,000 miles since it left the factory.
Modifications I made:
- Sealing the floorpan to ensure it stays watertight. Thankyou Rover.
- Installing secondary doorseals to overcome leaks
- Removing the Analogue dash and replacing it with an ex MG1600 Digital display unit and on board computer
- Modified the Internal lighting system to include a courtesy delay, and footwell lighting
- Replaced the temperamental manual sunroof with an electric Montego Version
- Installed a 3rd brake light to make foolish drivers back off
- Full service of the Automatic Gearbox(single handed! HAH! I was told it was “not possible”)
- Clear MGF side repeaters
- MG Mudflap
[more to come]
