Modifications
None yet! I thought I’d miss the Maestro toys…but no. It’s an Astra Merit-lowest spec. No power windows, no power mirrors, not even a rev counter..but it still has power steering. It’s quite capable of doing what it needs to, and maybe I’m getting old - but I’m quite content with that.
I *am* considering a few mods. Just to make it “mine”.
- Vauxhall OEM Mudflaps - to protect the paint from the mud (none to be seen!)
- Modify the rear seats to take Vauxhall headrests, to make it nicer for passengers
- Better boot lighting, instead of the single lamp (got the parts, need some nice weather.
- 90% of interior lamps/panel lamps now changed out for LED versions.
- Delock the boot and fit an electric release, as I keep forgetting to lock it.(one day)
- Fit an LED custom rear brake light, probably into the spoiler
- possibly change all rear lamps for LED equivalents, for peace of mind
- Shopping bag restraints in the boot. Something to stop the bags spilling their contents all over the boot when I do roundabouts.
Any mods wll be subtle. I want this car to look stock, not tarted about. Hence why I took a heatgun to my bumpers to restore their colour to factory new, instead of replacing them with the painted ones.
