Mum’s previous Compaq 266 died, and a faster PC was needed to do the accounts. I was at a bit of a loss until we had a clearout of dead PCs at work. This clearout yielded a “Dan” tower case with an Asus P2B mainboard in it. No PSU or anything else, but that was fine.

One cleanup later, I went through my workshop spares pile. An ATX 230watt PSU and the Tualitin CPU was dug out (literally), along with a CDRW drive and an Nvidia Graphics card and all were fitted. The dead Compaq gave up its drives and RAM, and my laptop contributed the Wifi card.

Not a bad PC for a freebie..runs Sage quite well, and thats what it needs to do.
